From Prescription Scan to Claim: Dtonic and KPIC Bring AI into Pharmacy Workflows
Pharmzigi AI to integrate with PM+20, KPIC’s pharmacy claims and management system
Integration will help pharmacists spend more time on patient consultations and medication guidance
Dtonic is connecting prescription information analyzed by artificial intelligence with a pharmacy claims and management system. The integration is designed to create a continuous workflow from prescription review through subsequent claims processing, reducing repetitive administrative work for pharmacists.
Dtonic announced that it has signed an integration agreement with the Korea Pharmaceutical Information Center (KPIC) covering its pharmacy AI service, Pharmzigi AI, and KPIC’s pharmacy claims and management program, PM+20.
Pharmzigi AI analyzes prescriptions and images to support pharmacy record management and operational review. Under the agreement, Dtonic’s data and AI technologies will be combined with KPIC’s established pharmacy workflow infrastructure.
Once the integration is complete, prescription information analyzed by Pharmzigi AI will flow directly into the subsequent claims process in PM+20. This will reduce the need for pharmacists to review the same prescription information separately and enter it again manually.
Dtonic expects the integration to help pharmacists devote more time to answering patient questions, providing medication guidance and conducting consultations instead of handling repetitive administrative tasks.
KPIC provides pharmaceutical search services, ingredient information, medication guidance and information related to Korea’s Drug Utilization Review system. The partnership will connect AI-powered prescription analysis with this existing pharmaceutical information and pharmacy operations infrastructure.
The two organizations plan to expand the available AI capabilities in stages, reflecting the practical needs of pharmacies.
“We expect the integration of Pharmzigi AI and PM+20 to make prescription-related information and AI-powered services more convenient to use in everyday pharmacy operations,” said Yong-il Cha, President of the Korea Pharmaceutical Information Center.
“Dtonic’s approach to AI transformation is to connect AI with the core systems and workflows of each industry, enabling better decisions and execution,” said Yong Joo Jun, CEO of Dtonic. “This agreement demonstrates how Dtonic’s technology can also be applied in pharmacies—an essential part of people’s everyday lives.”
