Dtonic Expands Global Retail AX with Olive Young’s U.S. Market Entry
Dtonic is entering the U.S. smart retail market, building on its digital transformation partnership with CJ Olive Young in South Korea.
The company is supporting the digital infrastructure and electronic shelf label deployment for CJ Olive Young’s U.S. stores, establishing a new retail reference in North America. Following the opening of its Pasadena location, CJ Olive Young expanded its U.S. presence with a second store at Westfield Century City, a major premium retail destination in Los Angeles.
Taking Proven Retail DX Capabilities Global
Dtonic has worked with CJ Olive Young since 2023 and currently supports digital transformation across all of its directly operated stores in South Korea. By connecting in-store systems and digital devices, Dtonic has helped improve operational efficiency, service reliability and the return on Olive Young’s retail technology investments.
Dtonic is also advancing the use of integrated retail data through its proprietary AI and data platform. This includes data on customer movement and behavior, weather conditions and local foot traffic. Based on this foundation, the company is progressively developing and commercializing AI agents designed to support decision-making and execution in retail operations.
Advancing the Core Technology Behind Retail AX
In May 2026, Dtonic registered two core technology patents designed to support enterprise AI transformation.
The first technology interprets a user’s goals and intentions and automatically designs an ontology-based data-processing workflow. It reduces the need for specialists to manually design every data process and helps organizations build the data and operational workflows required for AI more efficiently.
The second technology uses hierarchical spatial indexing to connect heterogeneous hardware accelerators, including GPUs and FPGAs, and process large-scale queries in parallel. This enables faster processing of complex and high-volume datasets.
Expanding Across Vietnam and the Middle East
Dtonic’s retail DX and AX business is expanding beyond the United States into Vietnam and the Middle East.
Dtonic VINA, the company’s Vietnamese subsidiary, has entered into an agreement with THISO Retail and is carrying out a digital transformation project for Emart stores in Vietnam. The project connects systems and digital devices across large retail environments where pricing, promotions and inventory information change frequently, helping improve operational efficiency and accuracy.
Dtonic has also worked with a major retailer in the Middle East. More recently, it was selected for Cohort II of the global AI accelerator operated by Presight, a publicly listed company within the UAE-based G42 technology group.
Connecting Enterprise Data with Operational Knowledge
Spun off from Hyundai Motor Company in 2014, Dtonic develops D.Hub, an AI and data platform that connects information distributed across enterprise and public-sector systems. The platform structures operational experience and decision criteria accumulated in the field so that AI can understand and apply them as organizational knowledge.
Dtonic is currently advancing AI transformation projects across cities, defense, retail and manufacturing while expanding its international business through operations in the United States, Japan, the UAE and Vietnam.
“The reliability and data technologies we have proven in Korea are translating into international projects and joint market expansion across the United States, Vietnam and the Middle East,” said Yong Joo Jun, CEO of Dtonic. “We will continue advancing our AI data platform and establish Dtonic as a leader in retail AX and DX.”
